Bio
VANESSA MAGIC
Vanessa Magic is a freelance writer of Jamaican-mixed heritage. Vanessa fell deeply in love with writing when won a poetry contest at the age of 8. She has contributed written content to CBC Parents, CBC Kids, Now Magazine, Eye Magazine, Broken Pencil, and Bespoke. Currently, she is in development with CBC to create an Afrofuturist kids science show. She is also the creator and writer of the music make-over transformation show “Alter Egos” (A-side/Blue Ant Media), and the short film”Ghosting”. Vanessa has been a part of the BIPOC TV & FILM Kids TV writing program and LOL Comedy class. She is also an award-winning costume designer and co-founder of Inclusive Stylist Toronto, an initiative encouraging diversity in wardrobe for film and tv.
Intro
I am interested in meeting and collaborating with like-minded people. I would love to work in the kid’s programming. Currently, I am developing an afrofuturist science mockumentary show for kids with CBC. I love the research I get to do when starting a project, if you need a researcher I’m here for you. I love a good story with heart. I write with my heart.
