COLLECTIVE MUSIC NATION

Collective Music Nation (CMN) is a national non-profit organization that unifies, amplifies and advocates for the needs of the Canadian Urban (culturally/historically Black) music community. Through resource sharing, advocacy work, community and network building, artist and professional development, and platforms and events that recognize excellence, CMN seeks to strengthen and promote culturally Black musical genres, industries, and artists, that have been historically underserved and underrepresented the Canadian environment. Collective, a catch-all phrase for black music, whether it’s Hip Hop, Pop, R&B, Smooth Jazz, Reggae, Soca or Afro-Beats. Our Collective music helps sell a lifestyle, merchandise and create jobs in our community. The impact of Canadian artists on industry charts right now is incredible. Canadians are dominating!! Alessia Cara, The Weeknd, Drake, Tory Lanez, etc. Even with limited resources, Canadian Collective talent has defied the odds and has made consistent strides in the global music community by dominating sales, streams, fandom, and tours; imagine what would happen if a structure was in place. Collective Music Nation is a proud supporter of sharing resources, providing grassroots funding and making artist development easily attainable by our music community. CMN understands the need for a unified celebration of our successes. Therefore a National CMN Live Award Show is necessary, a CMN Hall of Fame is necessary, CMN Music Camps are necessary, CMN Live Event Venues are necessary. Our top artists are Globally celebrated and successful, and they just happen to be CANADIAN.
