Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario (SCAGO) – based in North York, ON – is a charitable, patient-led organization founded in 2005. For over 20 years, SCAGO has offered advocacy, education, support services, and community outreach for individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease in Ontario. With more than 2,500 members, they provide resources such as counselling, scholarships, e‑learning modules, peer networks (WhatsApp, Facebook), and host blood drives and training sessions. SCAGO collaborates on research, promotes equitable care access, and encourages public awareness and blood donation to improve health outcomes.
