Kamau and Denese Metsimela here. We are originally from the Caribbean though Kamau lived in Kamloops from age 8 until age 19 before returning to the Caribbean. Kamau has been a Red Seal chef and restaurant owner for over 20 years. In February 2012 we moved to Canada with out two children to start a business. A dream was realized in August 2012 when we opened the doors to Jam-Can CafĂ© / Sweet Temptations Cheese Cakes with a vision is of bringing the taste of Jamaican/Caribbean food to Kamloops. In May 2016 we opened our second location at Columbia Place Shopping Centre under our new brand name Jamaican Kitchen. However, after moving our 12th St location to Tranquille Road in 2017, we decided to close the Sahali store so that we could focus our efforts on maintaining the excellent food quality that our customers are accustomed to. We serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and our menu choices include authentic Jamaican cuisine and interesting twists on Canadian favourites. Our drink selections include Marley Coffee, which is grown in Ethiopia as well as wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Caribbean beverages. Experience the Caribbean.. Come in for a meal or take-out and delivery through Skip the Dishes. Enjoy flavourful food in our casual atmosphere with the melodic sounds of Bob Marley in the background.
