    It’s in the news again.  It seems that another Black/Brown body is being brutalized by police at every turn.  That sorrow you feel?  That grief, that anger, that despair?  It’s actually trauma.  

    You probably gained a pound or five over the Christmas season. So you want to make 2018 the year you get your health in order.

    We are now progressing into the fall season and starting to feel our bodies adapt to the drop in temperature.

    The more we learn about micronutrients and how essential they are to our overall well-being, the more we are able to recognize the impact of deficiencies and its contribution to chronic illnesses and poor health.

    We all know when this time of year rolls around, issues around dry, itchy and flaky skin become common for many of us.

    Within the black community, one aspect of health that rarely gets discussed or even given any real attention, is the big “M” - Mental Health.

    We are officially into the fall, but for lots of people this is often a second shot at all those resolutions set back in the New Year.

    Getting sick more often than usual? Not sleeping well? Gaining weight yet eating less? 

    There's not a day that has gone by recently where I don't hear about someone getting sick or being diagnosed with yet another disease. We're a society that appears to be getting sicker and sicker and yet the power is in our hands to change it. 

    While on a tea date with a friend last week our conversation landed on managing PMS symptoms and how we can rid ourselves of them completely.
