She had never heard of the disease before—but soon, she was living with its devastating effects: painful treatments, a weakened immune system, and bone death, leading to a double knee replacement in her final year of high school. Despite the challenges, Jalesa never gave up because of her faith in God. With the unwavering support of her family and teachers, she pushed through the pain, stayed on the honour roll, earned seven scholarships, and graduated with multiple academic awards. Her resilience and strength were nothing short of remarkable.
Determined to help others like her, Jalesa pursued a degree in Health Sciences and became a passionate advocate for students with chronic illness and disabilities. She even launched a program to make university orientation more accessible and inclusive—proving that one voice can spark real change.
