Only Two Performances Remaining!
Marcia Brown Productions Announces the Long Awaited Premiere of I Need To Know My Father Part 2, the sequel to a powerful dramedy that uncovers family secrets, tests faith, and brings longawaited closure to the original production that was staged years ago.
The wait is finally over. I Need To Know My Father Part 2 will deliver the powerful, long-awaited conclusion to the story that moved audiences across Canada. Written by Marcia Brown, this new chapter picks up seamlessly from the original hit production, blending heart-stirring drama, explosive revelations, and Brown’s signature comedic brilliance.
The first production introduced audiences to 16-year-old Lisa Perkins, the daughter of Sarah Perkins and Jonathan Bonavich Jr. Their teenage love was abruptly severed when Jonathan Jr.’s mother, Claire Bonavich, rejected Sarah’s pregnancy due to class prejudice and social expectations. Jonathan Jr. was shipped overseas to continue his studies, never knowing Sarah was carrying his child; hence Lisa grew up denied the truth. denied her father and denied her true identity as she was named Perkins (similarly to Sarah who did not know either of her parents so was raised by her grand parents Louise and Roy Perkins).
But fate had other plans. In a dramatic twist, Lisa discovered the truth and ultimately had to save Jonathan Jr.’s life when he suffered a sudden stomach aneurysm and she became the only match for a critical blood transfusion he needed. That revelation was shattering and formed a wedge between Jonathan Jr and his parents for their despicable act towards Sarah and the Perkins family.
In Part 2, the emotional stakes rise even higher.
Sarah who had left for Canada when Lisa was just three years old returns home unexpectedly carrying the weight of untold struggles, sacrifices and a secret that threatens to shake the very foundation of the Perkins family.
- Will Lisa’s dream of a fairytale ending between her now reunited parents come to fruition or will it reveal painful realities that are irreversible?
- Has Sarah truly forgiven Claire Bonavitch for the pain inflicted upon her and the grandparents who raised her, Louise and Roy Perkins?
- When hidden secrets are finally revealed, will these families find healing or face yet another heartbreaking divide?
