Bold Flavours, Right in Your Backyard

For seven delicious days from Monday, May 11 to Sunday, May 17, 2026 — participating businesses across Canada will offer either a Prix Fixe menu or a $10 special (discounted by 25%) to give food lovers an incredible opportunity to explore and support Black culinary excellence.

This year, GTA's East End is well represented with four outstanding Black-owned restaurants participating; two in Scarborough, one in Pickering and another in Barrie. From authentic Nigerian cuisine to Jamaican comfort food and Congolese home cooking, these are the flavours of a community that knows how to eat well.

Blessinglicious Scarborough, ON

Blessinglicious Jollof Rice

Blessinglicious is a Black-owned Scarborough restaurant specializing in authentic Nigerian cuisine — and their BRW Prix Fixe menu is a full journey through West African flavour, from starter to dessert. This is food made with roots, pride, and serious culinary skill.

Stacy's Island Flavor Scarborough, ON

BBQ fried chicken with a side of cole slaw

Stacy's Island Flavor is a Black-owned Scarborough restaurant specializing in traditional Jamaican and Canadian cuisine. Warm, generous, and deeply comforting, this is the kind of cooking that feels like it was made just for you — because it was.

Ma Yve Grill Pickering, ON

Rice surrounded by vegetables and skewered meat

Ma Yve Grill is a Black-owned restaurant in Pickering bringing the rich, hearty flavours of Congolese cuisine to Durham Region. Rooted in the culinary traditions of the Democratic Republic of Congo, this is food that nourishes and connects — the kind of home cooking that reminds you where good eating really comes from.

Carib Dish, Barrie, ON

Chicken and rice with a side of plantain and coleslaw

Carib Dish brings its beloved authentic Caribbean cuisine beyond the city limits, serving Barrie with the same bold, comforting flavours that have made it a go-to for Caribbean food lovers across Ontario. This Black-owned restaurant is proof that great island cooking has a home everywhere.
