ACCA 45th Anniversary Celebration
It is with great excitement that we invite you to join us for a milestone celebration as the Afro Canadian Caribbean Association (ACCA) proudly turns 45 this year. To mark this special occasion, we are hosting an unforgettable evening titled Forward Together: A Journey Through Time and Beyond on November 23, 2024, at 5:30 PM at the Hamilton Convention Centre, located at 1 Summers Lane.
This evening will take us on a reflective journey through the rich history of our community while setting our sights on the future we are building together. We are especially honoured to have Dr. Juliet Daniel, esteemed professor and cancer researcher at McMaster University, serving as the Honorary Chair for this event. Dr. Daniel’s dedication to the community and her contributions to the field of science make her a truly inspiring figure as we celebrate this important milestone.
The night will feature an inspiring keynote address by Dr. Clare Warner, Senior Advisor, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism at McMaster University, whose words will underscore the strength and enduring spirit of our community over the decades.
Guiding us through this celebration are two dynamic personalities: MacNeal Lashley, a respected entrepreneur, and Ainara Alleyne, a talented local TV personality and youth leader. Their energy and warmth will make this an evening to remember, filled with cultural pride, laughter, reflection, and joy.
The celebration will also include live performances, showcasing the vibrancy and culture of our heritage, followed by a delectable meal and the chance to dance the night away in the company of friends, family, and supporters. It promises to be a night where memories are made, and where the past, present, and future of our community converge.
As we reflect on 45 years of progress, this evening also serves an important purpose—raising much-needed funds for ACCA’s ongoing programs and for capital renovations to enhance accessibility at our facility. By attending, you will be contributing directly to the success and sustainability of these vital initiatives.
We invite you to be part of this historic moment. Tickets are available at $150 per person or $95 for seniors, and we encourage you to secure yours as soon as possible. You can purchase them online via Eventbrite, or by contacting us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 905-385-0925.
