Overview

ByBlacks Restaurant Week is the only national food festival focused on promoting Black-owned restaurants across Canada.

Since launching in 2021, BRW has welcomed 135 food businesses from 46 cities across 7 provinces.

These businesses have an average age of 8.47 years—with 84% still operating5% temporarily closed, and 11% permanently closed.

Why focus on Black restaurants? Most people don't eat Black cuisine regularly, unlike Italian or French cuisine. Many Canadians are unfamiliar with African and Caribbean cuisine, and we feel that Black-owned restaurants need promotion to reach new markets.

Over the past five years, BRW has generated more than 1,400 pieces of media coverage, reaching an estimated online audience of 1.48 billion.

Presents Sponsor Proposal

With our Presents Sponsor package the sponsor company logo is placed on all marketing material generated by our creative team, with the Food Festival name changed to “ByBlacks Restaurant Week; presented by (Business)”!

    press releases.

Marketing Investment

$50,000 plus HST covering a one year promotional period.

The “Official” Sponsor is open to two brands only. The contract period is for one year. Outside of the fantastic benefits outlined below, this sponsorship agreement can be customized to your brand.

Official package marketing benefits:

  • Your logo featured prominently on our byblacks.com/RestaurantWeek page, identified as the Official sponsor.
  • Two newsletters promoting your brand as a supporter of ByBlacks Restaurant Week. (over 2,400 subscribers)
  • One Sponsored Article showcasing your brand’s support and

  • Premium ad placements across our platform; 50,000 impressions each type:

$30,000 plus HST covering a one-year promotional period.
