The awards were announced in September 2024 and a public nomination process began in October 2024.
Our readers submitted their favourite Artist, Book, and Business across several categories. Self-nominations were permitted and the nomination period closed at midnight on October 31, 2024.
From there, ByBlacks.com selected the top three nominees with the highest number of individual nominations as finalists in each category.
The voting portal opened on December 1, 2024. Readers had until midnight December 31, 2024, to vote, and were allowed to vote once per day.
