Nikki Martin New!
Nikki Martin is a Halifax-based writer, speaker, and yoga teacher. Her online writing led her to publisher Shana Thornton of Thorncraft Publishing, and between 2018 and 2021 she released A Momentary Darkness and The Beginning's End, the first two novels in her sci-fi/fantasy series Awake While Dreaming. In 2022, her first short film, A Walk in the Sun, premiered at the Atlantic International Film Festival, where she also won the RBC Pitch Development Prize for her first feature film, The Space Between. She created and wrote Things Like These, a darkly comedic short-form drama series following a family stuck in grief limbo after losing their father, directed by her sister Tobi Martin-Flemming and produced by Britney Canzi of Crypretty Media. As a keynote speaker and trainer, Nikki brings a unique lens and a gift for inspiring change and action to her talks and trainings. As a Yoga Teacher, she holds space for transformation while teaching classes grounded in the philosophical and spiritual roots of yoga, and is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in yoga, fitness, and wellness spaces, working as a Certified Integral Facilitator delivering talks, workshops, and trainings in DEI both within and beyond the wellness industry.
