Self-Perception in Gender Inequities and Career Advancement For Minority by Karlene A. Millwood
Self-Perception in Gender Inequities and Career Advancement For Minority by Karlene A. Millwood Women comprise 50% of the workforce and are departing from gender stereotypes to take on more leadership roles, but many still face obstacles to achieving their career objectives. This failure to advance professionally has been linked to non-external factors for minority women. When an individual positively identifies with their profession, it increases their self-perception. In this book, I examine how minority women can navigate the hurdles of race and gender inequities, the glass ceiling, and balancing career and family to advance to desired leadership positions successfully.I also analyze if inequities and discrimination contribute to their self-image and may limit their ascension into positions of authority, and to what extent these and self-perception inform their career choices.
