“It was important for Toni and I to create an intimate and lux experience that is led by black Canadian women. We want to eliminate the stigma that is often associated with black business owners and not only create our own narrative; it will foster the growth of African- Canadian business owners, while building, nourishing and sustaining economic wealth, within our communities,” Sasha Ruddock, Body Activist and Social Media Influencer.
This one day only pop-up shop will feature six black Canadian nail technicians hand-selected by Sasha and Toni; Alexis Wright, Raven Wilson, Shanice Duffus, Jasmine Balaga, Tenisha Palma, and Skye Daniels. Nu Ave Nails aims to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all, with a focus on the Black, Indigenous, and persons of colour.
“When our clients walk through the doors, we want them to feel as though they have entered the ultimate spa retreat, an environment that is vibrant and lively. With our beautiful and unique venue, welcoming and personable techs and staff, music and service, we have no doubt that this will be the case. It’s the details that we pride ourselves on, that will definitely make it a memorable experience for all and keep them wanting more.” - Toni Francis, Award-Winning Television and Cinema Producer
