Nu Ave Nails Will Feature All Black Nail Techs At Pop Up

Toronto's First-Ever and highly anticipated Black-owned Nail Pop Up Shop, NU AVE NAILS, is opening its doors on September 14th 2019. It's the brainchild of Founders, Sasha Ruddock, body activist and social media influencer, and Toni Francis, an award-winning television and cinema producer. Nu Ave Nails is Toronto's first touring nail salon that features all Black nail technicians.

“It was important for Toni and I to create an intimate and lux experience that is led by black Canadian women. We want to eliminate the stigma that is often associated with black business owners and not only create our own narrative; it will foster the growth of African- Canadian business owners, while building, nourishing and sustaining economic wealth, within our communities,” Sasha Ruddock, Body Activist and Social Media Influencer.

This one day only pop-up shop will feature six black Canadian nail technicians hand-selected by Sasha and Toni; Alexis Wright, Raven Wilson, Shanice Duffus, Jasmine Balaga, Tenisha Palma, and Skye Daniels. Nu Ave Nails aims to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all, with a focus on the Black, Indigenous, and persons of colour.

“When our clients walk through the doors, we want them to feel as though they have entered the ultimate spa retreat, an environment that is vibrant and lively. With our beautiful and unique venue, welcoming and personable techs and staff, music and service, we have no doubt that this will be the case. It’s the details that we pride ourselves on, that will definitely make it a memorable experience for all and keep them wanting more.” - Toni Francis, Award-Winning Television and Cinema Producer

Nu Ave Nails has received support from entrepreneurs all over the city to help pull this vision together. Be sure to check them out and support: Tinesha Richards Event Coordinator and Project Manager | Crystal Rowe owner of jELN | DJ Revy B | Savannah Ré Recording Artist.

It all comes together on September 14th 2019 at the Florist Loft, 1092 Danforth Ave, Toronto from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Although appointments were booked within 6hrs, there will be an afterparty, where all are welcomed to celebrate this new endeavour Sasha and Toni are embarking on. After party is from 7-11pm.
