So Ontario has stepped in with a pretty attractive offer: the staycation tax credit. If you book an overnight stay anywhere in Ontario in 2022 you can claim up to 20% on accommodation expenses of up to $1,000 per person or $2,000 per family. That works out to a maximum return of $200 per person or $400 per family.
Check out the government’s website for the details but in short, you can claim the credit for accommodation expenses for "a leisure [not business-related] stay of less than a month," at a short-term accommodation, such as a: hotel, motel, resort, lodge, bed-and-breakfast establishment, cottage or campground.
And of course, we're going to need you to #SupportBlackBusiness so here are a few amazing Black-owned Air BNB's we found.
