Briefly describe the relationship with your father.

Growing up my father has always been more of a provider and less of a 'let's go hang out or talk' kind of father. We get along fine, but if I don't reach out there will be literally zero communication.

How has this shaped the relationship with your children?

I appreciate all that he has done to help raise me, my older sister and brother, but have also taken note of what I would do differently once I became a father. My hope is to show my 2 sons that they are loved on a regular if not daily basis.

My father showed his love not with words but through the actions of being a family provider. This is important but for a child growing up, this is not something one can figure out until they are much older. To this day I show my sons lots of affection and am not afraid to be playful at the same time.

What do you enjoy the most about being a dad?

I love the feeling of coming home and seeing my 2 sons run to greet me at the door. The enjoyment of watching them grow, watching their relationships grow as brothers and the excitement of what's to come ie. Roller coaster rides, movies, etc. I love this next chapter and phase in my life PERIOD.

It is not easy by any means and I may have even aged a little due to lack of sleep, but I feel blessed to have a family...my own family where we can create our own new traditions and cement new memories.
