Our team at ByBlacks.com has always operated virtually, with team members in almost every Canadian province and overseas. We are weathering the storm, and hoping that we can also access financial assistance from the Government.
We’re writing to provide updates on:
- A new discount offer for clients
- How we are adjusting our events listings service
- Officially launching our Patreon account
DISCOUNTS:
To assist businesses who are still operating and are looking for a more economical way to promote their services, effective immediately and until midnight April 30, 2020, all clients will be eligible to receive our 50% off Friends and Family discount.
This applies to all promotional services offered by ByBlacks.com.
If you are an online business, have shifted all sales to online, or if you are a business offering an essential service, please respond to this email to talk about how we can help promote your business to the community. It’s more important now than ever, to keep our dollars flowing to Black-owned businesses.
EVENT POSTING:
All in-person events that were scheduled between April 1 to May 31, 2020, have been removed from our events listings page based on the current restrictions on gatherings imposed by the Canadian Government in response to COVID-19.
We welcome all virtual event listings, and remember our basic event listing is always free, we only charge for events to be featured.
EDITORIAL & PATREON
We are aiming to balance our COVID19 coverage with our features on Black Canadian businesses and personalities. We know you are facing information overload and so we promise to only provide COVID19 updates that we believe are of the highest relevance to our readers. The majority of our editorial focus will remain on Black Canadian success stories.
We've been watching many businesses, including media outlets, face this unprecedented struggle to stay afloat and ward off complete closure. We know exactly what that feels like because at ByBlacks we've lost 80% of the advertising revenue that pays our freelance writers.
But we are staying strong, we don’t plan on going anywhere. We remain committed to telling Black Canadian stories, but we need your help.
That's why we're officially launching our ByBlacks.com Patreon page today. It’s a membership platform where you can make a direct contribution to our success while getting perks in return. 100% of your contribution goes directly to fund our journalism.
Our readers are the reason we're in business, and we know you'll be the reason we're able to stay in business through this pandemic. We can't allow our voices to be silenced during this crisis. Please click here to help us keep the light shining on Black Canadian excellence.
Thanking you in advance and please stay safe during this time!
Peace, love and unity,
Roger and Camille
