TORONTO, Ontario — April 2026 — OnePeopleTO, the first Economic Empowerment Sanctuary in Toronto dedicated to BIPOC entrepreneurs, creatives, and community members, is located at 14 Irwin Avenue, Suite 301, in the downtown neighbourhood of Bay-Cloverhill. The space invites the Greater Toronto Area to experience a professional environment built specifically by and for the community.
OnePeopleTO integrates co-working, community healing, and practitioner space under one roof. Founder Sheena Ewan describes the mission as creating a space where culture, spirituality, wellness and economic growth coexist rather than compete.
"We built OnePeopleTO because the spaces that exist were not built with us in mind. This is a home base for our community — somewhere that honours who we are, supports how we work, and holds us while we build."
— Sheena Ewan, Visionary and Founder, OnePeopleTO
A Dedicated Space for the BIPOC Wellness Community
OnePeopleTO serves an ecosystem of care practitioners and entrepreneurs who often navigate professional environments that do not reflect their values or heritage.
The sanctuary offers two membership offerings:
- The Community Membership: For individuals looking to deepen & embody their wellness in a culturally affirming environment.
- The Entrepreneur Membership: For wellness professionals and creatives ready to scale their businesses through strategic alliances and a purpose-driven network.
Both tiers include access to sanctuary amenities, wellness props, pop-up markets and a network of practitioners across the GTA. The suite is also available for private bookings, corporate retreats, and community workshops.
Upcoming Event Calendar
This coming month, OnePeopleTO is hosting five distinct events at its Irwin Avenue location:
- The Midnight Groove (April 11): A quarterly speakeasy featuring vinyl sets, botanical cocktails, and island-inspired cuisine in support of OnePeople Philanthropy programming.
- The Black Seed Medicine Garden (April 24): A series for Black women to plant, cultivate & grow their yearly medicine garden together. Each session is an opportunity to exchange or make products with your herbal garden.
- Wellth Mindset Lecture (April 30): A 2-hour introductory lecture & integrative practice on tapping into your spiritual wealth & innate abundance by Sheena Ewan, incorporating Reiki, regulation, sensuality and ceremony.
- Black Practitioner Meetup (May 1): A OnePeople Philanthropy gathering for Black practitioners, healers, creatives, and space-holders to build community and combat the isolation of solo business ownership.
- The Reading Room (May 2): A low-pressure "third space" for mental focus and quiet reflection hosted at the OPTO Sanctuary.
- The Common Table (May 2): The return of OnePeople community dinners with locally sourced produce and menus crafted by local BIPOC chefs in support of OnePeople Philanthropy programming.
OnePeople Philanthropy and the "Wellth Mindset"
The OnePeopleTO ecosystem includes a non-profit arm, OnePeople Philanthropy, which secures funding for social support initiatives within Black communities in the GTA. Its work focuses on economic stability, mental health, and safe, affordable housing.
The non-profit recently debuted the Wellth Mindset Program, a year-long virtual engine for Black women executives and entrepreneurs. The program addresses the intersection of wellness and wealth, helping participants dismantle systemic and psychological barriers to financial success.
"The Wellth Mindset Program addresses a gap that has been ignored for too long. This program is the direct response to the systemic pressures that often encourage Black women to undervalue their labor and expertise."
— Sheena Ewan, Founder, OnePeople Philanthropy
