Montreal is in the building with this one! Representing my hometown are the Juno Award-winning duo Banx & Ranx alongside Zach Zoya. “The Birds” is a mid-tempo dance vibe with a touch of reggae. It’s an easy listen while Zoya reminisces about a wild summer night with his people—having a time hanging from chandeliers. However, watching the visuals for the song gives it an extra boost. Zoya’s escapades come to life and are in full bloom, step by step, as his antics are on full display. Imagine cars set ablaze and bank robberies gone mad—it all gives the track just the right punch and kick of unadulterated summer fun.
“Lil Bit” by S-ONE featuring 23Dreamz

Teetering on a reggae and hip hop sound, “Lil Bit,” the first single by DJ/producer S-One featuring 23Dreamz on vocals, will surge through your speakers and hit a sweet spot. The bumping bass carries the track right through. It’s a well–produced, straight-up club tune that can slide through a mixtape rotation effortlessly. The saccharine lyrics leave a little to be desired, but it plays off well against the melodies. 23Dreamz makes it abundantly clear throughout the track what he’s looking for—just a lil’ bit of love to get him through. Play it loud. It will make all the difference.
“Nothing New” by R.O.Z. featuring Nigel Knight
How did we rate it? BBB Good

Canadian hip hop/Afropop artist R.O.Z. signed his company to a label partnership deal with Sony Music West Africa, the first of its kind between the juggernaut and an independent label. That’s an impressive feat. He has released the single “Nothing New” with his Ghanaian roots immersed in the bravado behind the track. The smooth bassline gives way to a predictable beat that will catch your attention. The only drawback here is the lyrics. As R.O.Z. laments about how things haven’t changed and it’s ‘nothing new,’ repetitively, it stretches out unnecessarily. Nigel Knight infuses “Nothing New” with his verse and adds just enough charisma to push it on through.
