Black History Course For Teens To Launch In April

Black History Course For Teens To Launch In April
Administrator By Administrator
Published on Thursday, February 1, 2018 - 19:52
Starting April 2018 the LIFE Foundation will be launching a black history course open to students, male and female, between the ages of 14-17.

Classes will assist in combating racism in addition to teaching our youth many important life skills.

Regenerating our Roots is an anti-racism program which aims to break and correct the stereotypes systematically placed on the black community over many years. The program will teach the traditional concepts of black history. The curriculum will also focus on the unexplored history, while highlighting the many contributions that the black community has established worldwide.

We will be breaking down the negative views that youth may have of themselves and are perpetuated in society. By breaking down these negative views of themselves and their culture, they can learn self-love and confidence and flourish better in life. The program will provide these children opportunities they may not have had, while offering the support and resources needed to succeed. At the end of the course we will take our students on a field trip where they can witness the impact of the community first hand.

Throughout the three month course we will help to equip these young people with entrepreneurial, critical thinking and life skills.

The 12 week course will run once a week.

If you would like to help our initiative, donate or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our Program Director Kandice Henry at 6474440058 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

This course will change lives and we look forward to doing that with you.

For any donations please go to our GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/zsp4u-black-history-program

We are also looking for old laptop donations for work stations for the children. All help is appreciated.
