With the opening just days away now, I spoke with Lua about the World Premiere of cos.mo.pol.i.tan, a DANCEWORKS CoWorks Series Event and part of NextSteps 2013/14 at Harbourfront Centre’s Studio Theatre May 29 to 31, 2014.

Kwame grew up in Toronto playing hockey in the streets like most other Canadian kids.

Sunday, February 9, 2014, inside the Rose theatre, six Black comedians take on Brampton. Hosted by Jay Martin, the show also features headliner Keesha Brownie, Trixx, Andrew Searles, Zabrina Chevannes and Sharif. We had an opportunity to speak with Sharif about his comedy style, his inspiration Bill Cosby, and other amazing comics.

El Jones is one of the headliners for the upcoming Dwayne Morgan produced poetry series, When Sisters Speak. She is an energetic, outspoken activist, who addresses a  lot of systemic race related issues in Canada.

Rarely do I get to sit down and chat with with my friends about their shows, so it was a stroke of bad luck that our writer was unable to do the interview, and good luck for me that I stepped in to talk to one of the hardest working men in Black Canadian show business; Dwayne Morgan about his 15th annual spoken word concert, When Brothers Speak.

If you watched the recent promo video for the upcoming Toronto Urban Queens of Comedy show, there's one crazy woman doing a Busta Rhymes impression that had us on the floor laughing. Thats Zabrina Chevannes.

On the verge of the upcoming 3 the hard way release the “Empowerment Series” (Book, Film, and Soundtrack). DJ, Recording Artist, Author & Entrepreneur Joel NR Powell raises the bar one more notch higher by being featured inside XXL Magazine 150th Issue

ByBlacks caught up with one of Toronto’s most promising young artists Camille Lauren, and spoke to her about her motivation, style and launching her first solo exhibition.

Joining a play that already has some traction is difficult, especially playing a lead role. ByBlacks caught up with actor Damian Brown about touring with one of the most successful Caribbean plays ever written/produced in Canada; Marcia Brown’s “I Need To Know My Father”.

Three years ago we produced an erotic poetry show called “Freak Nasty” (since then the name has been softened to “The Sweet Spot”). It was a fun show; hosted by a comedian, with live music, fashion show and a DJ, featuring erotic poets from the USA, and a fresh new Canadian erotic poet named Victoria Grant. It was her first time on stage doing erotic poetry (though you wouldn't really have known it). On January 19th she unveils her inner thoughts via her debut book, 47 Kisses.
